China Aviation Valuation Advisors
David Yu is the Chairman of China Aviation Valuation Advisors (CAVA) its sister firms, Asia Aviation Valuation Advisors (AAVA), Korea Aviation Valuation Advisors (KAVA). They are China, Korea, and Asia's first professional aviation valuation and advisory firm providing investment and financing solutions to investors, partners, etc.
He is a professor of practice in finance at New York University in Shanghai (NYU Shanghai) where he teaches investing and financing classes with a focus on cross border and real assets in NYU Stern / HKUST's Masters of Global Finance Program and NYU Stern / Shanghai's Masters of Quantitative Finance Program.
Prof. Yu is a recognized expert and thought leader in cross border finance and investing. In addition, Prof. Yu has extensive experience in direct investments and financing across industries globally including deal origination, analysis, structuring, financing, and senior management responsibilities. He also acts as a board member and senior advisor for funds and companies.
Prof. Yu is a CFA Charterholder and has a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Nottingham Business School. He also has an M.B.A. in General Management with a concentration in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business, an M.S. in Systems Analysis and Applied Economics (Dept. of Geography and Environmental Engineering) and B.A. in Economics and Computer Science (full honors) from Johns Hopkins University. He has also studied at Peking University's Guanghua School of Management and the National University of Singapore’s School of Business.
Prof. Yu and his family currently reside in China between Shanghai and Beijing.
